Dr. Steingraber’s keynote address for the 2014 meeting of the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association on September 17, 2014 explores the ecology, geology, and natural history of Seneca Lake—and the toxicology of the threats posed to the lake region by the proposed plan to store compressed natural gas (methane) and liquefied petroleum gases (propane and butane) in abandoned salt caverns along the Seneca Lake shoreline.
